Cultural visit to the Fragata Presidente Sarmiento.
On Thursday, February 22, students of the Spanish Program for Chinese visited the ship – school Frigate “President Sarmiento”. The students, together with their teachers, visited this heritage and historical monument located on the Costanera Sur in the city of Buenos Aires, in the Puerto Madero neighborhood. They enjoyed the beautiful summer weather in the city, which allowed them to visit all the facilities of the frigate built between 1893 and 1895. With the help of the guide the students found out that the ship served as a school-ship between 1899 and 1939, which 37 trips of instruction around the world, surrounding it on several occasions and that was always Ambassador of Peace on behalf of Argentina, even in times of international wars.
We thank the teachers Lucy Artola, Sofia Tiano and Andrea Giliberti as well as the bilingual tutor Emma Beh for accompanying our students in this interesting activity that allows to increase the cultural and Spanish knowledge of the students.
